Six out of ten voters would not support current US President Joe Biden if the 2024 presidential election were held today, according to a national survey published by Fox News on Sunday.
As it is written, during his hundredth day in office, last April, 54 percent of those polled still thought that he was doing his job well, and by November, the same indicator had dropped to 44 percent. Currently, 47 percent of the respondents think that the president is suitable for his task, while 52 percent do not think so.
According to a Fox News analysis, at the end of Biden's first year in office, "concern about the state of the economy is greater than it was a year ago, and many feel that the epidemic is not at all under control."
The survey also revealed that the significant drop in the president's support - seen since last April - can be attributed almost exclusively to a significant drop in support for Biden among Democratic voters. While in April 95 percent of left-wing sympathizers assessed the president's work positively, this indicator has now dropped to 85 percent. During the same period, the opinions of self-identified Republicans and independents changed by only one or two percentage points.
According to Fox News, compared to 34 percent at the beginning of 2021, 52 percent of respondents are now dissatisfied with the way the government is handling the challenges posed by the pandemic. The opinion of Americans is even worse about the foreign policy of the United States (54 percent dissatisfied), the development of the economic situation (58 percent dissatisfied), and border security issues (59 percent dissatisfied).
According to statistics, Biden's current re-election prospects are smaller than those of his predecessors, Donald Trump and former presidents Barack Obama While currently 60 percent of those polled said that they would not re-elect the president, the highest "I would vote for someone else" indicator for Obama was 54 percent (September 2010), and 56 percent during Trump's presidency (January 2018).
According to the poll, the Kamala Harris is slightly worse than that of Biden, as only 43 percent of those polled think she is doing her job well, while 54 percent think she is doing a bad job.
Conducted by a Democratic (Beacon Research) and a Republican (Shaw & Company Research) polling firm between January 16 and 19, 2022, the poll asked 1,001 randomly selected registered voters nationwide.
