On January 27, 1945, some soldiers of the First Ukrainian Front were the first to enter the gates of the Auschwitz death camp. The sight was amazing. The dead were everywhere, and the living were just human wreckage. Between 1942 and 1945, nearly 2 million people perished in the largest Nazi death camp. From 2006, January 27 - based on the UN resolution - is the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. All over the world, the victims of the genocide, the approximately 6 million people who were never able to return to life, are commemorated.
