The signatories then also agreed that the declaration would be considered "a basis for joint cultural and political work, which respects the role of the current political groups", recalls the current statement.

The participants of the Madrid summit held on Friday and Saturday confirmed their concern about the internal and external attacks on the European Union.

In the second half of the declaration, the signatories agreed on specific steps: they will support the observance and enforcement of the principle of EU preference for products made in the member states; they condemned Brussels' immigration policy and the inefficient operation of FRONTEX; they want to increase European energy capacity and energy self-sufficiency; they demanded a stricter and more disciplined observance of the Treaties and rejected the irregular expansion of the powers of the EU institutions; they want to protect the primacy of the national constitutions of the member states over European law, as well as the primacy of national laws over EU regulations in all areas that do not fall under the exclusive competence of the European Union.

the external threats lurking in the European Union  , be it the Russian military activity threatening Europe's eastern border - which, according to the statement, is bringing it to the brink of war - or the immigrants, migrants and asylum seekers coming from third countries.

Finally, the signatories of the declaration decided to set up a coordination office, which will enable stronger cooperation between the political parties and organizations participating in the Madrid summit in order to be able to vote unitedly and unitedly on the above issues in the European Parliament.
