Alex Gábor Kovács, the socialist leader of the Inner City faction of the rainbow coalition Tiéd, openly attacks the successful investment of the V. district. According to the left-wing politician, a couple of swings and climbing frames would have been enough for families in the city center, on the other hand, the municipality implemented a modern complex equipped with a washroom and changing room, as well as an elevator in the name of barrier-free accessibility, with government support, reports Magyar Nemzet.

In accordance with the needs of the population, a modern playground and recreation park was built in Bástya Street, District V. The municipality implemented a complex investment , which includes the creation of a brand new public park with archaeological values in Bástya Street, the Customs House krt. 8, the creation of a 400-square-meter local history presentation space, Veres Pálné utca and Bástya u. 4-6. the complete renovation of the area in front of the park - from road and sidewalk renovation to public utility renovation to the development of the green area - as well as the creation of a green facade for the three apartment buildings bordering the park.

The multifunctional recreation park and playground on Bástya Street was built on a plot of land between houses. Service rooms, such as a reception desk, barrier-free restrooms, and a changing room, were located under the space. So, the list shows that it is a large-scale investment, which includes more than just the creation of a small playground. The government provided the funds for the project, a total of HUF 3.1 billion...

...It seems that the leader of the local left, Alex Gábor Kovács, regrets all this from the families of the V. district. At least his statement to Blikk reveals this. According to the socialist politician, a significantly more modest and cheaper solution would have been perfect for the kindergarteners and the residents here. It doesn't take billions of forints for children to enjoy the joys of such a park, a couple of swings and a climbing frame, not such childish equipment.

This manifestation clearly shows the attitude of the left towards the developments of the district. It is clear from the words of the left-wing faction leader that if it had been up to them, the park would have operated without comfort, with a few swings. Moreover, Kovács completely degrades the unique urban historical value that this area represents as part of the world heritage and as the site of the medieval city wall.

– Local government representatives are mandated by the residents of the district to represent the interests of the population. In comparison, Alex Gábor Kovács is campaigning in the tabloid media by saying that, in his opinion, the people of the city center deserve just a few swings and climbing frames instead of a multifunctional public park that fully serves the needs of the population. In my opinion, the city dwellers deserve better not only a few swings and climbing frames, but also a representative like this - Péter Szentgyörgyvölgyi, mayor of Belváros-Lipotváros, responded to the words of Alex Kovács...

In the 2019 municipal elections, Péter Szentgyörgyvölgyi , mayor of Fidesz, in the V. district, was none other than the socialist Kata Tüttő, the current deputy mayor in charge of city operations in the capital. That is why it is not surprising that his party colleague, Alex Gábor Kovács, uses all means to show the government party leadership in a bad light and attacks successful investments, even against the interests of the people living in the V. district.
