After the withdrawal of Fukuoka, Budapest will host the newly announced Aquatic World Championships for this year, the International Aquatics Federation (FINA) announced on Monday.
According to FINA's statement, the Hungarian capital will host the World Cup between June 18 and July 3, for the second time after 2017.
This year, the World Cup, which was originally postponed from 2021, was supposed to take place in Fukuoka, but FINA officially confirmed last Tuesday that the event, which was scheduled for May 13-29, 2022, was postponed by a year due to the coronavirus epidemic, to July 14, 2023. and 30, and the World Cup in Doha scheduled for November 2023 will be postponed to January 2024.
The international association justified its current decision regarding the 2022 World Cup in Budapest by saying that this will give the athletes the opportunity to participate in a worldwide event this summer as well.
