Päivi Räsänen's trial continues on Monday, February 14. The day before the event, on Sunday, CitizenGO organizes a sympathy demonstration in front of the Finnish Embassy.
As we have already reported several times , the Finnish Attorney General classified it as hate speech when former Finnish Minister of the Interior Päivi Räsänen quoted from the Bible. His punishment can be up to two years in prison. The whistleblowers described the church founder's thoughts as offensive and unacceptable, so at the end of the trial the court will actually decide whether the Bible can be censored and whether religious freedom still exists.
That is why CitizenGO organized a stand for Räsänen in front of the embassies in several countries, and one of their employees personally participated in the hearing on January 24.
For the next hearing, Renáta Faragó will travel to Helsinki to represent the Hungarian supporters of Päivi Räsänen. The employee of CitizenGO conveys to the former Minister of the Interior the message of the Hungarians that "we are with him, we are praying for him, tens of thousands of us signed the petition launched for him from Hungary, and many of us stood up for him personally in front of the embassy the day before the trial."
"Why is this case so important? Because it is about the lives of all of us. If Päivi Räsänen loses the case, it could set a precedent and make it a real crime to quote from the Bible.”
