The debate on the presidential nomination of the left is not going away.

The former head of government announced on his social media page that they initiated a correction at Telex, because it was falsely reported that the DK backed out of the presidential candidacy of pastor Gábor Iványi.

"It is difficult to calm the mood around the decision of the united opposition to nominate the head of state. I think I understand the reasons." - writes Ferenc Gyurcsány in his Facebook explanation, then continues:

"We are used to the debates, the last twelve years have been about announcements and non-stakeholder public dialogue. We may not have learned the institution of coalition negotiations, and certainly not the fact that six parties have to agree.

If there is no agreement, the tactical game begins, the public blaming that there is no agreement because of him or her.

This is also part of politics. Those who want a coalition should also be aware of these consequences. Because there is no coalition without public debates.

Well then, back to the head of state nomination.

There is a lot of speculation, a lot of wrong information, and sometimes deliberate misrepresentation in the public domain.
Today's article from Telex.hu is an excellent example of the latter .
Telex is not telling the truth.

He was and remained a committed supporter of the nomination of Gábor Iványi of DK from the first minute to the last. We thought Gábor was the best choice in every respect. We have not wavered for a minute in this conviction. We had no reason to. We supported Gábor Iványi in every voting round. As did all but one party.

Telex, on the other hand, actually claims the opposite.

Someone who takes part in the discussions of the six parties misinforms the portal for political reasons, leaks it falsely and anonymously, and they report the untruth without reliable verification. Damage.

Of course, like every other party, we also acknowledged that there is no complete agreement. What can be done? In a coalition, sometimes the decision that we want is not made. That's just the way it is.

Blame game is a common political practice. It is clear who is doing this now.

That's why it's a shame. Because you have to take better care of the truth and each other. Otherwise, we will initiate an official correction at Telex. I kiss their hands.” Ferenc Gyurcsány evaluated the events.
