Márki-Zay misspoke again. On March 15th, he invites his sympathizers to a "change of government rally" (?), to the exact place where the Peace March of hundreds of thousands started on October 23rd. László Csizmadia, the founding president of CÖF-CÖKA, commented on the announcement as follows:
"It's like a government change assembly, it doesn't exist, so even the first sentence of the announcement is false." The government can only be changed - democratically - through elections, hardly on the quay of the University of Technology. In addition, we already know the size of the opposition coalition's "mass meeting", on October 23 they already showed how big it is.
"Isn't it strange that the Peace Procession is almost aped by the choice of location?"
- It's more pathetic than strange, because it was no coincidence that the Peace March started in front of the University of Technology on October 23. In 1956, the university students started from there for the demonstration of sympathy for the Poles, this demonstration marked the beginning of the Hungarian revolution. There is no revolutionary mood now, so it is clear that they only want to refer to the Peace March.
– But they are not marching anywhere, moreover, if their campaign succeeds in a similar scale as on October 23, that line would not be very long. That would be a bad omen for them barely a month before the election.
"That should be their concern." We are preparing for the next Peace March to be much bigger than the one in October. And we are demonstrating peacefully again, not against something, but so that the government, which we think is successful and in symbiosis with the majority of Hungarians, can continue.
