Zoltán Kovács, the state secretary responsible for international communication and relations, wrote in his social media post that, in view of the long weekend, the programs planned for the 1848/49 revolution and freedom struggle memorial day will begin on March 12 this year.

In the museum garden, the Buda Castle and the Castle Garden Bazar, family programs, concerts and food fairs await those interested from Saturday.

In the case of national holidays, there will be a flag raising as usual, and the Kossuth awards and the Széchenyi awards will also be presented as part of the festive program series.

This year - as on October 23 last year - at the request of the organizers, the Peace March will also join the program of the central ceremony on March 15.

According to plans, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will give a speech on the afternoon of the national holiday at Kossuth Square, wrote Zoltán Kovács.
