Parents have the right to find out about the content of lessons to be held in schools by civil organizations and, ultimately, to ban them - this is the opinion of 73 percent of Poles, according to a survey published on Sunday by the news portal wpolityce.pl.

The survey was carried out by the Social Changes polling company on behalf of the conservative Polish portal. Among the 73 percent, 39 percent of the respondents answered "definitely yes" and 34 percent answered "rather yes". Contrary to this, 13 percent of the respondents expressed an opinion questioning the parents' right to information and decision-making, of which 6 percent answered "definitely not" and 7 percent answered "rather not". 14 percent of respondents did not express an opinion on the topic.

The amendment to the law was put forward by the Ministry of Education, referring to the fact that sexual education in schools is often carried out by organizations that are radical, use forms that are not appropriate for the children's age, and go against the traditional family concept.

They argue that the new regulations limit the authority of school principals and the municipalities that operate the schools.
