National Security Operative Tribe: The safety of the Hungarian people comes first

According to the government's point of view, the safety of Hungary and the Hungarian people comes first, the Government Information Center (KTK) wrote in a statement sent to MTI on Thursday evening.

On Thursday, the National Security Operative Corps began its operations under the leadership of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán The government's specialized decision-making body was created to coordinate governmental tasks related to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

The National Security Operative Tribe also decided that Hungary naturally provides protection to refugees from neighboring Ukraine, not only to Transcarpathian Hungarians, but also to Ukrainian citizens. Ukrainian citizens coming from the territory of Ukraine, as well as persons without Ukrainian citizenship legally staying in the territory of Ukraine, can also submit their asylum application in Hungary, and the Hungarian authorities recognize them as entitled to temporary protection. Preparations for the reception of refugees have also begun, they explained.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is a member of the National Security Operative Tribe; Minister of the Interior Sándor Pintér; Minister of Defense Tibor Benkő; Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó; Minister of Finance Mihály Varga; József Kovács, National Information State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Government Office; Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, commander of the Hungarian Defense Forces; János Zsolt Bunford, head of the Information Office; Szabolcs Bárdos, head of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution; János Béres, head of the Military National Security Service; and Hedvig Szabó, head of the National Security Service. Permanent invitees to the meeting of the National Security Operative Tribe are Antal Rogán, the prime minister's chief of staff; Gergely Gulyás, Minister in charge of the Prime Minister's Office; János Nagy, State Secretary in charge of the Prime Minister's Program Office and Gábor Bordás, State Secretary for Public Administration in the Prime Minister's Government Office - it is clear from the announcement of the KTK.
