On February 24, Géza Dunajszky presented his new book at BistRovás, MaJel's restaurant in Kassa. After director Ágnes Kovács briefly introduced the author and welcomed those present, Dunajszky spoke about his new work, entitled: Plowed mass graves.
He started with the fact that from 1920 to 2011 approximately 1,713,000 Hungarians disappeared in Slovakia. This cannot be called genocide, because these people were not physically destroyed, but it was a huge moral loss for Hungarians. His spine and soul were broken. It has lived separated from the motherland for more than a hundred years. This is what modern research calls ethnocide. As we read on the back of the volume:
"Ethnocide ... is the systematic destruction of the way of life and thinking of people other than those who are doing the destruction." In the succinct words of French anthropologist and ethnologist Pierre Clastres: "...genocide kills people's bodies, while ethnocide kills their souls."
In the middle of the 20th century, four hordes of ideas exterminated people who thought humanely. Czechoslovakia was established as a multi-ethnic country and it was expected that, like Switzerland, they would create the possibility of forming a second Switzerland. Beneš promised the same.
It is a less known fact that Ruthenians were also persecuted in Czechoslovakia. When Transcarpathia returned to Hungary, the Ruthenians served in the Hungarian army. That's why they were persecuted.
Edvard Beneš said a very interesting sentence at the Sorbonne University. He wrote dishonorably about Slovaks and the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Among other things, he stated that the Monarchy has no place on the map of Europe because it is a melting pot of small nations. But this idea also applies to Czechoslovakia. These two countries are no longer on the map of Europe, and neither is Yugoslavia.
The current war also shows what happens when a country does not respect its nationalities. Ukraine provoked this war. It may happen that this country also disappears from the map of Europe.
But this can happen to Slovakia too! He saw the prognostication of Soviet military intelligence. On the map of Europe, which is part of the document, Slovakia is not on it! He only mentions this as a warning.
"Slovakia cannot afford to rub things under our noses for years and at the same time refuse to listen to the wishes of its minorities."
All the demands that would ensure our survival. However, this was promised at the time of independence. If these laws are not enacted, let Slovakia bear the consequences!
There are social laws that cannot be circumvented. the writer pointed out.
"We extend our hand to the Slovaks and Czechs for reconciliation," emphasized the author. A circular was drawn up on this subject. The name of the initiative: With love against hate.
