So far, more than HUF 30 million in support has been received for the government-launched aid program called Bridge to Transcarpathia, announced the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations in Záhony on Sunday.
Miklós Soltész recalled at the impromptu press conference held at the border station in Záhony: the first step was the creation of the helpline 1357 and the related account number, for which more than HUF 30 million in support has already been received. The donations are sent to charitable organizations.
In addition to monetary donations, they are primarily looking for accommodations where they can provide food for families and smaller communities.
The state secretary expressed hope that the Bridge for Transcarpathia program will provide support to many thousands of people, and thanked the border municipalities and law enforcement organizations for their effective support of refugees from Ukraine.
