The world was deeply shaken by the attack launched by Russia against Ukraine in the early hours of February 24. The acts of war have intensified in the past few days and are expected to cover the entire territory of our eastern neighbor. In our country, many organizations have initiated aid campaigns.
This war brings suffering to the innocent and cannot be a solution to any problem. Hungary's situation is special in addition to the neighborly relationship because we are responsible for the lives and safety of our compatriots living in Transcarpathia.
Hungary provides protection to all war refugees from Ukraine, regardless of nationality. Several aid organizations have started fundraising to provide humanitarian aid to those arriving in Hungary.
Among others, the Hungarian Red Cross , the Catholic Charity , the Hungarian Maltese Charity , the Hungarian Ecumenical Charity , the Baptist Charity , the Hungarian Reformed Charity and the border Greek Catholic Diocese of Nyíregyháza also launched aid programs. The presidency of KÉSZ draws the attention of all people of good will and good sense to these initiatives, and asks everyone to, in addition to continuing to pray for peace, support all those who are forced to leave their country or who struggle with daily supply problems due to the war in their homeland.
