Most of the 102 people who died were elderly and chronically ill, so the number of those who died increased by 44,051. The number of recovered people is constantly increasing, currently 1,595,008 people, and the number of active infected people has decreased to 150,522 people. 3,610 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital, 136 of them are on ventilators.
We are in the descending branch of the fifth wave of the epidemic, the number of infected and hospitalized patients is decreasing. Vaccination appointments can be booked continuously, and in March there will be vaccination campaign days every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Nearly 90,000 people in the 5-11 age group and 276,000 in the 12-17 age group were vaccinated.
Also in March, there will be a vaccination promotion at the hospital vaccination points every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Vaccination is still a priority for the unvaccinated and those who received their previous vaccination more than 4 months ago. The booster vaccination is recommended for everyone who received the previous vaccination more than 4 months ago. By taking the third vaccination, protection can be increased to 80-90% again. At the central vaccination points, you can still choose from five vaccines. In addition, general practitioners continue vaccinations.
Unvaccinated persons who have been infected can be vaccinated without a waiting period after recovery from the disease. The fourth vaccination can now be booked and taken up, even in the context of vaccination campaigns. The fourth vaccination can be requested for over 18 years, if 4 months have already passed since the 3rd vaccination. In order to assess the effectiveness of vaccination, the vaccination doctor may consult with the attending physician and/or general practitioner if necessary. The choice of vaccine is always the responsibility of the vaccinator, who, knowing the patient, decides based on professional considerations. There is no general contraindication for any combination.
