For the 21st time, the award for Christian standing, the Shield of Faith award, was presented. This time, too, the life work, steadfastness, and unshakable faith of a brother from across the border and one from home were recognized, dedicated brothers were honored who, despite the anti-church action of socialism and the persecution of religious people, accepted even prison, but did not back down, always following the teachings of Christ they worked for others, for Christian people.
One day after the Memorial Day for the Victims of Communism, Tamás József , Hungarian Catholic bishop in Romania, retired bishop of the Archdiocese of Gyulafehérvár, and Éva Kontra , the first general superior of the Society of Our Lady of Magyars, former head of the Szent Erzsébet Social Home for the elderly in Árpád-háza, received the Shield of Faith recognition.
