Mandiner employee Gábor Nagy paid attention to the "documentary program" published on the 3Sat program, which - what a surprise - tells a lot of lies about Hungary and Hungarian democracy, both in text and in pictures. Gábor Nagy's writing is published below.

According to the signs, German-speaking areas are also preparing for the parliamentary elections in Hungary. On February 26, in prime time, the 3Sat cultural public service channel showed the nearly forty-minute long documentary film, which deals with the elections and the cultural struggle of the past 12 years.

The title of the work:
Opposition to Viktor Orbán - Cultural struggle in Hungary before the elections".

It is difficult to talk about politically balanced, impartial information in connection with this film. Even though the producers also voice Zoltán Kovács and Gábor Kálomista , a significant part of the program time is made up of the explanations of politicians and public figures who are critical of the government, as well as narrations portraying the Orbán cabinets in a negative light.

The message of the show is clear and familiar: corruption is rampant in Hungary, and wherever possible, independent journalists and gay rights organizations are being made impossible. But, as the example of the University of Theater and Film Arts (SzFE) shows, "power" has invaded not only culture, but also education - states, among others, Katarina Barley, German Social Democrat Vice President of the European Parliament, Viktória Radványi , Budapest Pride one of its organizers and László Bagossy from the Freeszfe Association.

Péter Márki-Zay appears several times in the film , to whom, in addition to speakers committed to the domestic opposition, international opinion leaders have high hopes. It is telling that the speeches of the mayor of Hódmezővásárhely are quoted in which he talks about building a "fascist dictatorship".

What was not included in the documentary was that the left-wing politician himself put it this way: "But what Viktor Orbán embodies in one person, this rainbow coalition, so to speak, the liberals, the communists, the conservatives and the fascists - we separate this in the alliance we represent separately".

In response to the corruption and anti-democratic accusations, State Secretary Zoltán Kovács stated: Hungary would not be able to register such economic successes today if what the left constantly claims were true. Fidesz-KDNP came to power by winning democratic elections , he added.

Gerhard Papke said that the accusation that there is no media freedom in this country is completely unfounded . What's more: the German media report incorrectly on Hungary. Despite this, Veronika Munk , head of content development at Telex.hu, talks about state monopolies in the next clip.

In addition to factual errors, a visual deception was also included in the documentary "Opposition to Viktor Orbán - Cultural struggle in Hungary before the elections". When the German narrator talks about Viktor Orbán sitting in the newly renovated palace, they show the Budavári Palace, not the Carmelite monastery, where the Prime Minister's Office and the Prime Minister's office moved in 2019. But the prime minister does not live there anyway.
