With an investment of HUF five billion, the Defense Innovation Research Institute will establish one of its rural bases on the Zalaegerszeg vehicle industry test track, the Minister of Innovation and Technology announced on the spot on Friday.
László Palkovics recalled that a few years ago, Hungary once again prioritized the development of the defense industry, one of which is the Rheinmetall combat vehicle factory being built in Zalaegerszeg.
However, defense industry investments are not being made to attack anyone, but to protect ourselves, the minister emphasized.
Among other things, László Vigh, the region's Fidesz member of parliament, spoke about the fact that in order to reduce our exposure to any kind of disaster, we must have all the human and technical means we can use to protect ourselves.
