Developments worth almost four hundred million forints have been made on the infrastructure of the Natura 2000 network south of the Danube in the past two years at forty locations in eight landscape units, the Danube-Dráva National Park Administration (DDNPI), which implemented the investments, told MTI.
According to their press release, the emblematic tourist destinations of the region were able to expand and renew during the developments realized from the HUF 387 million framework of the Environmental and Energy Efficiency Operative Program (KEHOP). As part of a program aimed at promoting the Natura 2000 areas under the management of the national park and presenting the natural values found there, a new reception building and a panoramic promenade were created in the Nagyharsány sculpture park, connected to the highly protected natural area of Szársomlyó
In Mecsek, Jakab-hegy was renovated, the new rain shelter built in the Óbánya valley and the renovated Cigány-hegy lookout were completed, and a new lookout pavilion was created in the Pintér garden in Pécs. In addition, a new observation deck was built or renewed Drávaszentes Pacsmagi fish ponds Tolna county , in Báta and in Gemenc, and a bird-watching stop and a row of birds were handed over at the Földvári lake bird paradise in Dávod.
