15,000 students from 340 secondary schools in the Carpathian Basin travel on the national holiday to commemorate the 1848-49 War of Independence in the spirit of national unity. The traveling students unite with their donations for their fellow Transcarpathian Hungarian students.
With the Student Travel Program of the Rákóczi Association, connected to the national holiday on March 15, 15,000 students from 340 secondary schools in the Carpathian Basin travel to the Hungarian community in another country, and visit domestic historical monuments as part of unusual history classes.
Each traveling student offers HUF 500 to fellow Hungarian students from Transcarpathia.
