"Decisions always lead to a world of consequences," said former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. This is especially the case with the decision to go to war, although what it covers can even be called a special military operation.
And the consequences are unpredictable. Of course, everyone now hopes that it will be over soon, that Putin has counted himself out, that the sanctions will curb the aggressor. That the moral contempt of the civilized world afflicts Russia, the more the Russian people will find it cheesy to listen to, perform Tchaikovsky, or read Bulgakov. In fact, it may even be forbidden!
Everyone was certainly surprised by Putin's decision to launch an attack on Ukraine. Although there was a large-scale diplomatic operation before, it seems that the world is late. Unfortunately, there are such Brussels fetishes or illusions that there can no longer be war in Europe, because that is why the EU was created. (As if the sunrise were a function of the rooster's crowing!) Then there was a South Slavic war lasting almost a decade, and now the biggest challenge is before us: the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
But here is another interesting question! The problem of moral superiority. Right, when the United States attacked Iraq from land, air, and sea, to defend Kuwait (cf. Donbass) - hand in hand with the British and the French - before that they blackmailed Saddam that he had chemical weapons and nuclear bombs (he didn't), and his missiles - which of course were of the Russian type - they reach Central Europe. Anyway, he's an unbridled dictator, so the world can't wait to see him
the Yankees, who are the guardians of the ark of democracy
let the country be shot to pieces, that ugly bearded president be plucked out of a pile of potatoes, hanged, and then unleash the Islamic terrorist state on Western civilization, which flares up in measure and goes out in measure. Obviously to their standards! (Heraclitus, sorry!)
It was also nothing like the fact that during the Arab Spring conspiracy festival, after they bombed Tripoli, they caught the Libyan Berber colonel, a certain Muammar Gaddafi, in some watery ditch, and the benevolent angels killed him on the spot in the crossfire of the cameras.
Of course, the bombs fell in front of him, innocent people, women and children died here, there and there. Formerly from napalm in Vietnam too!
After that, American athletes could continue to participate in the Olympics and world competitions, their musicians could travel freely, the film mainstream celebrated itself in Hollywood, etc. and no sanctions were suffered by the Western world, unless we consider China to have quietly pushed them off the economic and monetary throne.
After all, the moral force was with them, wasn't it?!
The Russian leader probably failed to sufficiently blackmail the Ukrainian leadership (he didn't even have a chance!), since a small genocide in Donbass and the fact that his NATO missiles are moving under his belly are not such a big problem, let's face it. In other words, it cannot be used as a moral advantage for special military operations. So he became the hoofed devil himself, now he can go into the soup!
Russian culture and their representatives have been frozen since Ivan the Terrible.
Everyone condemns Putin, because innocent people, women and children are dying here, there, and there!
Of course, unlike Saddam and Gaddafi, Putin really has a button. It is not worth messing with him, because after another "bad" decision, there will be no consequences.
