Human Rights Watch also pointed out that the attitude towards refugees in Ukraine is quite different from when people with non-white skin arrive from other parts of the world.
On the other hand, Hungary now acts in accordance with international law just as it did in 2015. Ukraine is a country neighboring our country, where armed intervention/war is taking place, therefore we are considered the first safe country for refugees crossing the border. In 2015, citizens of about 96 countries wanted to enter the territory of sovereign Hungary (and the European Union) through Serbia, not deterred by the use of violent means, while there was no war in Serbia, and all asylum seekers crossed numerous other peaceful borders to the Hungarian border.
Therefore, Hungary also acted in accordance with international and EU law in 2015, when it protected the Hungarian border, and with it the Schengen border.
