The Embassy of Hungary in Ukraine protests against the statements of the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister!
In a Facebook post, the Hungarian embassy in Kyiv responded to the words of Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereschuk, that Hungary is attacking Ukraine from the back because of Russian gas, and that the Hungarian leadership may already be silently dreaming of Transcarpathia.
"The Embassy of Hungary in Ukraine was surprised and shocked to read the lines of the post of Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereschuk on March 22, 2022 on Facebook, which was later widely quoted and commented on by the Ukrainian media," the post reads. According to the post
Vereschuk's conclusions are not only completely false and baseless, but also downright offensive.
The embassy considers it sad that Transcarpathia and the Hungarians living there are included among these speculations - not for the first time. The post lists the help Hungary has provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the war:
“Since the beginning of the war, Hungary has received, cared for and assisted 641,775 Ukrainian refugees, and this number is increasing daily;
thanks to the voluntary donations of Hungarian citizens and the resources provided by the Hungarian government, state bodies and humanitarian organizations provided Ukraine with 5,000 tons of aid and donations worth tens of millions of euros;
Hungary continues to support all sanctions that the international community imposes on the aggressor state;
Hungary supports Ukraine's EU candidate status;
"Hungary contributes to the preservation of life in Ukraine by providing energy," the post reads.
