A series of programs under the title We, Hungarians will be launched as part of the Magyarság Háza Filmklub Extra; the spring screenings are held once a week from March 31 to June 2 at the Urania National Film Theater.
53 films were produced in the We, Hungarians series in 17 countries, ten films will be presented to the public during the spring screenings. In 2020, on the occasion of the Year of National Unity, the House of Magyarság began the realization of the special series of portraits, which resulted in the production of fifty-three, almost full-length films, about Hungarian people and communities living throughout the Carpathian Basin and the diaspora, with the participation of foreign artists - is stated in the announcement of the organizers sent to MTI on Thursday.
AS THE WRITER OVER A YEAR, THE CAMERAS WORKED IN A TOTAL OF SEVENTEEN COUNTRIES, THE UNITED STATES, ARGENTINA, AUSTRALIA, CZECH REPUBLIC, SOUTH AFRICA, FINLAND, CROATIA, CANADA, HUNGARY, GREAT BRITAIN, ROMANIA, SPAIN, SWEDEN, SLOVAKIA, AZERBAIJAN, , SLOVENIA AND UKRAINE WERE THE LOCATIONS OF THE FILMING.
The protagonists of the works include a rock band, doctor, actor, nun, flame baker, farmer, janitor, stove builder, cobbler, teacher, doula, jazz and folk musician, car mechanic, chocolate maker, slammer, psychologist, painter and sculptor, mountain dweller, social worker, scout leader, beauty queen, writer, folk dance instructor, winemaker, physicist, postman, babysitter, gatekeeper, priest, language architect, pub, village, motorcycle club, handball and soccer team. In this way, together, the films provide a kind of cross-section of Hungarians living in the world, they provide a snapshot of how diverse we Hungarians are, they write in the announcement.
AUDIENCES CAN SEE THE FILMS OF THE WE, HUNGARIAN SERIES FOR THE FIRST TIME FROM MARCH 31 AT THE URANIA NATIONAL FILM THEATER IN BUDAPEST.
One film is shown once a week, with the personal participation of the main actors and creators. At the first screening on March 31, a portrait film called Being a dwarf in a world meant for giants will be shown, the main character of which is Anetta Nyikó, a disabled IT professional and slammer from Transylvania.
As the organizers point out, participation in the screenings is free, but prior registration is recommended.
