Elon Musk's tweet comes a day after he released a Twitter poll asking users whether they think Twitter respects free speech, to which more than 70% voted no.

Musk was responding to a Twitter user's question about whether he would consider building an open-source algorithmic social media platform that prioritized free speech and kept propaganda to a minimum, reports The Jerusalem Post .
Musk, an active Twitter user himself, has recently been critical of the social media platform and its politics.
According to him, the company undermines democracy by not respecting the principles of freedom of speech.
His tweet came a day after he posted a Twitter poll asking users whether they think Twitter respects free speech, to which more than 70% voted no.
"This poll will have important consequences. Please vote carefully"
he wrote on Friday.
If Musk decides to create a new platform, he would join a growing portfolio of tech companies that position themselves as champions of free speech and hope to attract users who
who feel their views are suppressed on platforms such as Twitter, Meta's Facebook or Alphabet-owned Google and YouTube.
