This year too, the Székely Gyors-Csíksomlyó Expressz departs for the Csíksomlyó farewell. The pilgrim train will leave on June 3 and return on June 6, Whit Monday, the organizers announced on Thursday in Budapest.
At the press conference, János Árpád Potápi, the Prime Minister's Secretary of State responsible for national policy, emphasized that perhaps the greatest gift of the past ten years is that the government was able to strengthen the feeling of national belonging in the Carpathian Basin.
The Hungarian nation is "unified even in its holidays". Their joint holiday is the day of national unity on June 4 and the farewell in Csíksomlyó, which falls on the same day this year, he said.
The State Secretary elaborated on this: 2022 is the Áron Tamási commemorative year, commemorating the writer who was born 125 years ago, and who, according to his assessment, is one of the greatest and most widely read writers not only in Transylvania, but in Hungarian literature as a whole. In addition to the many programs of the commemorative year, he called it gratifying that this year the Székely Gyors-Csíksomlyó Expressz train is pulled by a locomotive decorated with the portrait of the writer.
The Csíksomlyó Expressz departs from Szombathely, then arrives at Keleti railway station in Budapest via Sopron, Kapuvár, Csorna, Győr, Komárom, Tatabánya. Here, the Csíksomlyó Expressz is connected to the Székely Gyors, and the two trains leave for Transylvania together as a "national pilgrimage train".
