The Ukrainian president scolded Hungary and Germany because the two countries do not agree to extend the EU sanctions to oil and natural gas.

Zelenskiy used the example of the United States and Great Britain, who would support the expansion of sanctions - except that the British do not need Russian gas, and the Americans would do well if the EU bought American liquefied gas instead of Russian.

Zelensky said in the interview that Ukraine does not understand "how to make money at the cost of bloodshed, but unfortunately some European countries are doing just that."

He stated: the Ukrainian government knows that the embargo of Russian crude oil is one of the key issues facing Germany and Hungary.

"We need to talk with these countries about how multiple, different approaches to the oil embargo issue are possible within the European Union," Zelenskyy said.

Viktor Orbán and Olaf Scholz oppose the extension of sanctions to energy carriers because then there would be nothing to heat.

On the one hand, this would obviously mean that people would get cold, and on the other hand, for example, it would completely ruin the German economy, which would drag the entire union down with it. It would hurt the Russians much less, because they have accumulated significant reserves in recent years, and they could sell most of their oil and gas to China and India. In other words, the Ukrainian president is now practically demanding that the EU bankrupt itself for a sanction of dubious success.

2022 plus:

The Ukrainian artist still believes that the presidential chair is a stage and tries to dazzle the audience as a protagonist. We quote two thoughts of Kálmán Mikszáth about this confusion of roles:

"He likes the role. And he doesn't carry the role, but the role carries him."

"Because you only have to taste power once to get used to it: It tastes really good..."
