A tulip garden with almost 120,000 flowers has opened on the border of Mórahalom, MTI announced. Visiting the garden adjacent to the Nagyszéksós Buffalo Reserve is free, families can take great photos and gain lasting experiences, and for a fee it is also possible to pick flowers.
Zoltán Mátrai , the originator of the initiative, said that four years ago, the first TulipGarden was created at Lake Balaton, in Szőlősgyörök, with 30,000 tulip bulbs planted. There are currently 13 gardens operating in the country, where two million tulips will open , one million of which were planted this year. Based on last year's experience, the gardens are expected to host two hundred thousand visitors.
The number of flowers in the garden increased from 50,000 to 120,000. Thanks to the exhibition garden created next to the flower beds, visitors can now enjoy fifty types of tulips, several types of daffodils, and hyacinths. In addition, a playground and a turtle reserve were also built in the garden. By picking flowers, visitors also support a charitable cause, as the park donates 10 percent of the price of each flower to the Foundation for Surgery for Children Waiting for Surgery.
