For several minutes, Fidesz member of parliament Péter Hoppál explained the criminal record of the city's left-wing mayor at the Pécs town hall. Attila Péterffy's leadership style is also criticized by many on the left in the county seat, which is considered the veterinary horse of the rainbow coalition.

"You tricked the people of Pécs!" - said Péter Hoppál, the Fidesz member of parliament for Pécs and its surroundings, who was re-elected on April 3rd, to the mayor Attila Péterffy at the town hall meeting of the county seat of Baranya on Tuesday.

Hoppál explained in his speech before the agenda that the people of Pécs have been watching what the mayor elected in 2019 is doing for the city for two and a half years, but so far he has only promoted himself with the previous projects planned by the Fidesz city administration.

As is known, the new market hall will soon be handed over in Pécs, the project of which was started under the previous mayor, Zsolt Páva from Fidesz. Local representatives also objected recently that Attila Péterffy took photos in a work safety helmet in the market hall under construction, as if he had taken care of the construction of the new building.

- You promised civil city management, but you constantly serve your political official, Ferenc Gyurcsány, with the wildest political actions - said Péter Hoppál in his speech.

The parliamentary representative reminded that in the previous city administration there were only two deputy mayors, while currently three are paid from the money of the people of Pécs.

- Councilors with invisible jobs, paid from public money, abound here. In many cases, he placed political appointees at the head of city companies, with fabulous salary increases and premium conditions, Hoppál continued.

Péter Hoppál compared the performance of Attila Péterffy with that of the former socialist mayor, László Toller, who is still highly respected on the left in Pécs. As he said, Zsolt Páva and László Toller cooperated even with the government of the opposite color for the sake of the city, as László Botka of Szeged or the left-wing mayor of Miskolc are currently doing.

The Fidesz member of parliament drew attention to the fact that on April 3rd, more residents of Pécs voted against the left than voted for Attila Péterffy in the municipal election in 2019. Hoppál interpreted this to mean that the city's citizens also evaluated the mayor's performance. At the end of his speech, he presented a red card to the mayor, interpreting the opinion of the city's citizens.
