At today's meeting of the European Parliament's Environmental Protection Committee (ENVI), Frans Timmermans, Vice President of the European Commission (EC), discussed the effects of the war in Ukraine on energy and climate policies. In her speech, Fidesz EP representative Edina Tóth asked the leading official of the EU body about the news that Brussels would ban indoor heating above 18 °C.
The vice-president of the European Court of Justice did not deny the information, but gave an evasive answer to how this measure is envisioned in practice. - can be read in Magyar Nemzet.
As they write, Frans Timmermans absurdly suggested to citizens to choose to lower the temperature in their homes, thus saving energy. According to the Dutch commissioner, it is also important to take shorter showers! - reminded Edina Tóth, and then pointed out: "Citizens can really do all this, the only question is whether they will be obliged to do so as a result of erroneous decisions in Brussels."
2022 plus
So far, it has not been revealed that Timmermans also came from the world of comedians to the political stage together with some of his colleagues, because it is absurd that such absurdities should be formulated, not only in people, but in the politicians who run the union. Therefore, we should not be surprised that the war, which makes the lives of millions miserable, was created because of the thoughtlessness of such persons. All this is compounded by the fact that "we will tell you" how many degrees you should sit at home, how many times a week you shower, buy clean clothes only every three days, and show sufficient self-restraint when using toilet paper.
And we, dear think tanks, have a suggestion: For example, it would be good if it were only 15 degrees in the parliament's meeting room, because it will still be filled with so many hebehurgy speeches. A temperature higher than 10 degrees is also not advisable in the EU offices, because then the brains, which are already slowed down, will spin even less and maybe in doing nothing they will not think of countless, more beautiful stupidities.
The saddest thing is that this is not a joke, this is the EU reality!
