András Kelemen's thoughts regarding the election of Katalin Novák as President of the Republic.
On Saturday, we were all able to participate in a ceremony that had never been held before. We celebrated the election of Katalin Novák as President of the Republic on May 10. In his celebratory speech, he placed the crown on our decades-long efforts. He started with the family and connected it with the nation. Then, in the current situation, he understandably first took a stand on the issue of the Russian-Ukrainian war. He summarized his assessment of this and our position and aspirations in 10 clear points. Regarding our situation in the world, he stated that "sometimes we stand alone on the fence". He wants to solve this loneliness, and his first trip leads to Poland. He put our self-evaluation in place: he represents a self-conscious Hungarian. He knows the value of our language and culture, our desire for freedom that shines through our history; and wants to help us become accepted in the world. And our healthy self-awareness should enable us to open closed doors and "go through the wall" if necessary. Taking part in the work of the National Civil Christian Democratic Community, you experience a self-evident sense of belonging. Since the unity of the nation begins with the family, the importance of passing on life and protecting the family was emphasized in his speech, as well as his approach to social policy in which he wants to be "ears, heart, and mouth" for the fallen and those who have drifted astray.
The credibility of his person and his statements are based on the results he achieved between 2014 and 2020 as State Secretary responsible for family and youth affairs, and then in 2020-2021 as minister without portfolio responsible for families.
If Gyula Fekete, fighting unarmed against our population disaster, could have made this moment worth it! If the authorities heard the alarm bells that he rang astray, he incited his followers to put aside the dispute. Make it a question of "small or car"; flashing the creation of tolerable living conditions - at the price of giving up childbearing. In that world, where worldview uniformity was mandatory, but in the case of having children, it was argued that helping it would be "a gross intrusion into the sphere of private life". Extreme freedom has been raging on the issue of abortion since 1957. The anti-human power felt well that among the people freed from deprivation and spiritual bleakness, life, and the desire to continue life, is resurfacing. After all, the subjugated Hungary showed a wide range of social integration disorders, from the high incidence of suicide, the huge prevalence of alcoholism and early death, to the phenomena of family breakdown, to mass abortion. After the system change, the law on the protection of the fetus created the basis for a humane treatment of the issue, but it was still a huge destructive liberal media storm. Governments derided as left-wing have reduced family allowances.
The change in this was brought about by the NER system. When Katalin Novák gave family protection an independent sphere of activity, and when Viktor Orbán declared his desire to ensure that the adoption of children does not cause disadvantages for families.
And now the issue of family protection has risen to the rank of the president of the republic. It is dizzying to look back that the truth of the persecuted and mocked lone warriors became the highest level of political aspiration.
