Hungary is accelerating the expansion of the Paks nuclear power plant and solar energy investments so that 90 percent of Hungarian electricity production will be carbon neutral by 2030, the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade said on Friday in India.
Speaking to the public media in Delhi, Péter Szijjártó said: in order for Hungary to speed up solar energy investments, it has joined the Indian, French-founded International Solar Energy Association, whose goal is to contribute to the implementation of technologies and investments promoting the use of solar energy in its member countries.
According to the minister, he and his Indian negotiators agreed that
THE WORLD IS MOVED TOWARDS A SERIES OF VERY SERIOUS ENERGY SUPPLY CRISES,
and in the coming period, those countries that produce at least a significant part of the energy they use themselves will be safe.
"That's why, just as nuclear energy is being heavily emphasized in India, we in Hungary are also speeding up the construction of the Paks nuclear power plant so that it can be in commercial operation by 2030, and we are also speeding up our solar energy investments in order to ensure that nuclear and solar energy together, the situation is that by 2030, 90 percent of Hungarian electricity production will be carbon neutral," he said.
Péter Szijjártó - who participated in an Indian-Hungarian business forum in Delhi on Thursday - also mentioned that India has the sixth largest economy in the world and has been able to show amazing economic growth in recent years.
The Hungarian economy also benefited from this rapid growth in India, as many large Indian corporate groups made serious investments in Hungary;
SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE ALREADY EMPLOYED, AND HUNGARIAN COMPANIES ARE ALSO ACHIEVING GREATER SUCCESS ON THE INDIAN MARKET.
