The seats of EU politicians have not even cooled down at the marathon oil embargo summit in Brussels, but the embargo against Russian gas has already been raised in a recent interview by Ljubov Nepop, Ukraine's ambassador to Hungary.
To the suggestion that Hungary obstructed the sanctions package on the oil embargo because it was against the interests of the Hungarian people, the ambassador replied: the Hungarians should support not only the current oil embargo, but also a gas embargo.
According to Nepop, in order to end the war more quickly, we need weapons on the one hand, and sanctions against Russia on the other. According to him, the sanctions are important because if they are effective, then Russia will simply not have the opportunity to finance the war, as a result of which the Russian troops can withdraw from the Ukrainian territories more quickly.
"Now the oil embargo is on the table, but we also have to talk about gas, because oil and gas are two things from which Russia receives the most income," said the Ukrainian ambassador.
