The State Secretariat for National Policy of the Prime Minister's Office has re-announced the applications for the Unlimited program for the next school year, the submission deadline is July 15 at 2 p.m., the trips must be completed by August 31, 2023!
The state secretary responsible for national policy reported on this at a press conference on Friday morning. János Árpád Potápi drew attention to the fact that almost two thousand applications are still waiting to be implemented due to the coronavirus epidemic. To this end, the implementation period was extended until August 31 for the 2019 and 2020 applications, and until December 31 for the 2021 program. The politician reported that the total budget of the program is 1.88 billion forints, with one application it is possible to win a non-refundable grant of between five hundred thousand and five million forints. The range of eligible expenses has not changed.
János Árpád Potápi also spoke about unifying the image of the No Limits trips, asking the traveling groups to display the logo of the program and the headquarters of the educational institution on the windshield of the bus. The state secretary also indicated that, in addition to the thematic routes so far, new ones will be offered to traveling groups.
At the press conference, the state secretary reminded that the Unlimited program started in 2011. The aim of the initiative is to build Hungarian-Hungarian relations, establish and deepen personal relations between Hungarians in the motherland and abroad. In the program, with the support of the Hungarian government, students from Hungarian schools can take part in a class trip to Hungarian-inhabited areas of neighboring countries, thus gaining personal experience of Hungarian communities abroad.
Thanks to the program, around half a million schoolchildren have already been able to visit Hungarian-inhabited areas across the border. This is also due to the fact that 78 percent of Hungarian university students have already visited Hungarian territory beyond the border, and 62 percent have friends or acquaintances from abroad.
At the press conference, János Árpád Potápi also mentioned that 158,000 national and foreign students participated in the 2021/22 Unlimited high school competition, and 41 classes made it to the online grand final on June 8. In the end, the winner was the Kölcsey Ferenc High School in Zalaegerszeg, the winners won one million forints in class money. The best ten classes can take part in the National Occupation Camp in Noszvaj, August 23–29. between.
