Hungary further improved its position and achieved its most favorable position since 2010 in this year's competitiveness ranking of 63 countries by the Swiss IMD. In the past year, our country advanced from 42nd to 39th place in terms of competitiveness. It should be noted that the improvement in competitiveness was continuous during the coronavirus epidemic and in the international (economic) crisis situation that emerged in recent years, Hungary's competitiveness has already moved up by 8 places compared to 2020. It means that

It can be counted as a special success that out of the 63 examined countries, Hungary's ranking improved to the 9th largest extent, while Romania and Poland also deteriorated (dropping 3 places each).
Among the survey-based results of the study, it should be highlighted that most of the respondents among the company managers again indicated the competitive tax system (59%) as the most important positive in terms of Hungary's attractiveness, which has been showing an improvement in satisfaction for years now (2021: 53%). From this point of view, the dynamism of the economy is in second place with a mention rate of 52% (2021: 43%), followed by the availability of skilled labor with a mention of 47% (2021: 49%).
Based on the IMD's competitiveness ranking, the government's tax reduction policy, its steps to strengthen the work-based society, and the strengthening of education and vocational training were also confirmed. The results also confirm the government's crisis management actions during the crisis periods of recent years.
