Because of the business tax concession for small companies, many municipalities have rung the wrong bell, saying that their management is impossible. However, the newly prepared final accounts for 2021 show the exact opposite, typically business tax revenues closed with a substantial surplus - read the VG.hu article.

of Szeged was almost 117 percent in 2021 compared to the budget. The local government led by László Botka planned 8 billion in resources in this line, but in the end more than 9.3 billion forints were received. This year, moreover, it is expected that the number of two years ago will be overturned, since Szeged is already counting on HUF 9.95 billion in income according to preliminary plans.

Pécs also has an opposition political leadership, which claimed last spring that they were expected to lose more than two billion forints in revenue due to the 50 percent industrial discount. On the other hand, together with the state compensation, the epa turnover of the Baranya county seat closed at a record level of HUF 10.5 billion. Just for comparison: even in 2019, i.e. the last year of peace before the pandemic, only 9.5 billion was collected. Excluding the central grant, the amount according to the plan was fulfilled at 108.24 percent. Pécs originally calculated with 6.8 billion, which it later increased to 7.9 billion. The actual figure exceeded 8.55 billion.

Szombathely, which is also led by the opposition, is expected to be fulfilled by 134 percent by 2021. At the Vas county seat, they first hoped for HUF 6.5 billion, which was then corrected to HUF 8.72. The final number was almost the same for HUF.

in Gödöllő , led by György Gémesi, last year. In the budget, they calculated 1.9 billion, which eventually climbed over 2.6 billion. This does not mean a significant difference compared to HUF 2.9 billion in 2020. At the same time, in this year's budget of Gödöllő, industrial concessions supporting SMEs continue to be of great importance, which, according to György Gémesi, together with other items, will take at least one billion forints.

Miskolc and its mayor are also pessimistic about the industry, even though in 2021 there was a 106.7 percent overachievement: instead of HUF 9.66 billion, HUF 10.31 (in 2020 was the same as HUF 10.93) came into the municipal coffers. The Veres Pálés, on the other hand, continue to fear a loss of income, which they believe could be HUF 1.7 billion in 2022. The validity of this is open to opinion, especially since a decrease of three billion was forecast for 2021.

Ádám Mirkóczki's Eger walks in similar shoes. In the Heves county headquarters, 2.78 billion was scheduled for IPA last year, but a spectacular amount more than that, almost 3.5 billion, was received, so they could report 124 percent of the actual figure, and for this year they estimate 3.251 billion.

Salgótarján is an exception compared to the cities mentioned so far. In the seat of Nógrád County, the source of the ipa, which was moderated during the year, was redesigned. In the previous year, it started at 1.56 billion, later it was reduced to 1.18, and finally 1.2 billion was collected from business tax. The scenario was similar in 2020 as well, and the city achieved the same level, 1.246 billion, even without the halving.

VG has previously reported that, although the capital's leadership usually talks about a loss of 20 billion, in Budapest may set a record this year, and more business may flow in than in the peak year of 2019 before Covid. And it was also revealed from the recent municipal accounts that the halving did not result in financial bleeding in rural areas either.
