As the majority of motorists must have already heard, quantity restrictions have been implemented at gas stations in Hungary.
As our portal also announced , a maximum of 50 liters of fuel can be purchased for vehicles with a Hungarian license and license plate at one refueling , but the real, i.e. market, price must be paid for the fuel filled in a separate can.
Based on the information of our readers, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that if, in addition to the fuel filled in the car, you also buy gasoline or diesel filled in a separate can, not only the amount over 50 liters must be paid at the real price, but also the amount filled in the car, i.e. such refueling entails a double cost.
But those who have built a fuel tank larger than 50 liters in their car (either factory or retrofitted) can also pay in another way, because those who do not pay attention and exceed the 50 liter limit must pay for the entire amount of fuel at the market price.
The intention of the restriction is clear, you can read about it in the already mentioned article, but the implementation will not be easy. It is enough to think that if someone has a gas tank of, say, 60 liters, he can fill the tank with, say, 40 liters at one gas station, and 20 liters at a nearby gas station belonging to a different company. It's a bit of an inconvenience, but the 50 liter rule has already been circumvented. It is unlikely that the computer systems of the fuel distribution companies would be connected, so the control cannot be perfect either.
Of course, it is also true that the vast majority of passenger cars in circulation have fuel clay tanks with a capacity of less than 50 liters, and it is also true that the owners do not let the petrol run out completely from the larger tanks, i.e. usually you do not need to fill more than 50 liters in the car. So, presumably, the above-mentioned skill can only occur in extreme cases...
