Richárd Barabás, the spokesperson of Párbeszéd, published a video on Facebook in which he asks the President of the Republic Katalin Novák to participate in one of the Pride events, thus also symbolizing the unity of the nation.
Richárd Barabás came out in 2015, announcing his homosexuality in a post. The politician does not sympathize at all with the Christian-conservative government measures, yet he likes to voice the teachings of Christ, despite the fact that he does not consider himself religious.
In this way, Katalin Novák to Pride is like asking Richard Barabás to show up at church every Sunday as a sign of respect for the representation of Christian voters.
Of course, it is an excellent political move to provoke the new head of state, who was previously responsible for families, in this way, but unlike the president of our republic, Péter Márki-Zay, he is not only a Christian at home, but also on the street. According to this, if Katalin Novák does not appear at one of the Pride events, she does not represent the disintegration of the nation, but simply her personal convictions, and as a guardian of democracy, it is sufficient if she ensures the possibility of Pride being held.
