Hungary has now become one of the safest countries in Europe, and Budapest the safest capital. Last year, the fewest crimes were committed in Hungary since the change of regime. This must be appreciated, because in the coming period, a country's security will be the most important advantage in international competition - Viktor Orbán spoke about this in the Buda Castle, at the National University of Public Service's opening ceremony on Saturday.
The Prime Minister emphasized: The war taking place next door shows that we must prepare for the challenges of the new era. He added: The government is providing better and better conditions for the law enforcement profession, and they are further increasing the equipment and respectability of the staff.
"Hundreds of thousands of migrants are besieging our borders, major cities in Western Europe are being rocked by terrorist attacks, we were threatened by a deadly virus for two years, and now war has broken out in our neighborhood," said Viktor Orbán.
The Prime Minister emphasized: "We must be strong, prepared and united, because this is the only way we will be able to avert the dangers lurking in our community, and this is the only way we can protect the peace and security of the Hungarian people."
Viktor Orbán emphasized: the most important task of the state is to protect public order. A government that cannot guarantee the safety of life and property loses the right to expect cooperation from its citizens.
The fewest crimes were committed in Hungary in 2021, 30 years after the regime change, so Hungary has now become one of the safest countries in Europe, and Budapest has become one of the safest capitals.
It is worth appreciating this, he said, pointing out: in the coming decades, the orderliness and security of a country will be the biggest advantage in international competition.
"The price of security is constantly rising, order and security are Hungary's hardest currency," declared the Prime Minister. He added: the war taking place next door shows that it is necessary to prepare for all possible scenarios.
Speaking to the graduate students, Viktor Orbán said: the financial support is available, the government can provide increasingly better conditions for law enforcement officers to carry out their profession. He added: The profession to which the new officers were sworn is one of the noblest and most difficult professions, for which he wished "good health and strength", and then asked the officers to remain faithful to their oath and serve Hungary virtuously.
The graduates took the oath of office in front of the copy of the Holy Crown and historical flags, in the presence of the Prime Minister, Sándor Pintér, Minister of the Interior, Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Minister of National Defense, and the general staff at Kapistzrán Square.
