The Stipendium Peregrinum camp of the National Talent Center runs until Sunday in Balatonszárszó. In addition to the many experiences and fun, this weekend is also a serious challenge for the young talents: now it is decided whose studies abroad the center will support.
The Stipendium Peregrinum scholarship is a prominent project of the National Talent Center, which is intended for those outstanding talents who, based on their skills and knowledge, are preparing for admission to the most prestigious universities in the world, and who undertake to use their acquired knowledge in Hungary after their studies.
Krisztina Lantos , executive director of the National Talent Center, said that this selection camp is always a special event. Here, they look for those young people who stand out from the rest with their academic or competitive results, and who choose the difficult path of being admitted to one of the world's prestigious universities and being admitted there. The initiator of the program three years ago , Katalin Novák , who this year also helps the young talents as an instructor during the three days of the camp.
The young people competing in the camp were selected from 167 applicants. 49 of them can compete to win the program's support. , 25 university students can do this . They have to perform both individual and group tasks during the camp, the organizers try to get everything out of the campers so that they can give their maximum.
In addition to Katalin Novák, big names such as Zoltán Balog , world champion synchronized swimmer Kata Stumpf Erika Kossuth award-winning singer Miklósa , and many others took on the role of instructors at the camp. The instructors from all areas of life represent the knowledge and talent that young people are expected to have.
"We don't primarily impart knowledge to young people, but experience, " said opera singer Erika Miklósa. – This and the human attitude with which we can help the competitors here in the camp. If we have love, it helps us to convey our experiences to the best of our ability. After all, we are already beyond what they only want to experience now.
"I was accepted to the pharmacology master's program at the University of Cincinnati ," said Blanka Novák , one of the participants of the camp. - I have been involved in research for several years, and I think that this scholarship program could really help me to acquire the knowledge necessary for this and then be able to use it in Hungary.
The program can support the study of a maximum of 25 young people abroad, with HUF 250 million available.
