On the feast of Our Lady of Sarlós, Székesfehérvár County Bishop Antal Spányi blessed the ninth and last completed large stained glass window of the Christ the King Church in Dunaújváros, the work of Tibor Munkácsy Prize winner and Hungarian Gold Cross of Merit artist, the Magyar Kurír reported.
The partial renovation of the inner sacred space in the church in Dunaújváros has been completed with a church window depicting the great religious bishops of the 20th century and worthy young role models - Ottokár Prohászka, Áron Márton and József Mindszenty, István Kaszap and Mária Magdolná Bódi -.
At the beginning of the festive mass, parish priest Nándor Baltási greeted the celebrants. He said that the coloring of the yellow glass windows, which relieved the monotony of the cathedral-sized reinforced concrete church, was made possible by the donations of the Dunaújváros faithful, the contribution of the diocese and foreign donors. The parish priest's idea - to enrich the church with a significant artistic work - quickly found a response, and the donations were collected in a few weeks.
Both accepted the Father's gift and did the Father's will in the world. The world does not need what we think or feel, but what God wants to give to those around us through us. That's when the peace of our hearts and the loving presence of God in our lives are born - the chief pastor pointed out.
Tibor Bráda's glass works gave a radiant, special, heavenly atmosphere to the church built during the regime change. The 9 glass windows were the work of 5 years. The parish coordinator of the renovation of the Mátyás Church, theologian Balázs Mátéffy, and András Smohay, director of the Diocese Museum of Székesfehérvár, assisted in the design of the 4.5×7.5 meter windows. The artist dealing with sacred glass painting called the 270 square meter glass creation the main work of his life and thanked all supporters and his family for making the church window ensemble possible.
