The essence of the Church is to be salt and light - this is the motto of the family camp of the Diocese of Szombathely.
For the sixth time this year, the Family Pastoral Committee of the Diocese of Szombathely organizes its camp for the families of the diocese. Eszter Busáné Markovits, one of the organizers, said that they last had a camp of this kind four years ago, which usually takes place every three years, and last year they prepared for the NEK. There are many returnees, but countless families who have not yet participated in the family camp also came.
During the programs intended for parents - such as the lecture, round table discussion, forum, small group discussions - young children and minor priests of the diocese deal with the younger children. The programs provide an opportunity for families to get to know each other and, of course, to relax, for example in the form of a dance hall or pub water.
The common, even nightly devotions and daily Masses provide an opportunity for spiritual deepening. Spouses are given special time to talk to each other, and young people take part in programs suitable for their age group.
On the Wednesday of the five-day event, Richárd Korzenszky OSB taught about the community, on Thursday Bishop János Székely, and on Friday the Kunszabó couple, Panni and Zoli, were invited to give a presentation to the parents about participation and the mission. The new auxiliary bishop of the diocese, Benedek Fekete Szabolcs, was also present as a host at the location he recommended.
"The meaning of the word participation is: I take on the burden and cross of others, I am one with them," explained János Székely, and then told two stories related to this. His first lesson was that everyone is part of the Church, the big and the small, and the small are sometimes more important. The other proved that if there is no place in our communities for the poor, the difficult person, the homeless, the gypsy, the elderly, then soon Jesus will not either, since we are all members of one body, which are connected to each other.
In his teaching, he also talked about the fact that in the ancient usage of words, the word symbol was used for holiness, the meaning of which was 'composed, to put together, to put together'. Symbols are made up of the visible and the invisible, just as holiness is. The Church is also a sacrament in this sense: a visible community in which the soul of Jesus resides.
The Church is a unity with Christ, but also with each other; if we are one with God, then we can be one with each other.
Mission is the overflowing love of God. The Father sends the Son, then the Holy Spirit. "Just as God flows out of his nature, so it is natural for the Church to flow out, to broadcast the Gospel. If our Church is not like this, then it has lost its essence, its nature. In marriage, which is the archetype of the Holy Trinity and the Church, it is the same: love flows between husband and wife, they become one, it naturally overflows, becomes fruitful, gives life." The essence of the Church is to be salt and light - warned the county bishop about our apostolic mission.
Zsolt Marton was the main celebrant of the Holy Mass in the Szent Vid chapel in a picturesque setting; Benedek Szabolcs Fekete, Tihamér Majlát and Gyöngyös Balázs Gyöngyös, parish priests from Nagykutas, concelebrated with the minor priests of the diocese and surrounded by many small and large children.
Zsolt Marton said at the beginning of the Mass that, as a family reference bishop, he carries the families of the dioceses in his heart. Sun odos means 'together on the same road'.
The II. According to the Vatican Council, the Church is God's wandering people, so together we are on a common pilgrimage towards eternity.
