In 2020, Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield took over the question about Hungary's rule of law from Judith Sargentini. While the Sargentini report called for the initiation of Article 7 proceedings against Hungary, with the current document, the European Parliament is proposing to cut off our country from the resources of the recovery fund.

Another Sargentini report is being prepared. The current document calls for Hungary not to benefit from the resources of the recovery fund. The past four years have not been enough for the European Parliament and those making the report to specify the problems they see in relation to Hungary, Attila Kovács, European Union research director of the Fundamental Rights Center, told the M1 Ma Reggel program.

According to Attila Kovács, Hungary is the victim of a political ideological campaign that has been going on since 2018, which grossly claims that our country violates the values that form the basis of the European Union. The research director drew attention to the fact that the European Parliament wants our country to be punished because it stands up for the protection of Hungarian families and, in a broader sense, EU businesses.

The expert said:

The European Parliament is looking for ways to teach governments that stand up for their national interests, ignoring the expectations of Brussels, to be rude, to put it mildly. The agency found a means of financial blackmail.

According to the expert, it can be observed that the institutions that present Hungarian voices are systematically ignored by the delegation of the European Parliament. On the other hand, it can be said that they stick to the narrative of NGOs financed by Soros networks, such as Amnesty International, Transparency International, or Political Capital.

Attila Kovács said that following the series of negotiations in recent weeks, the technical issues related to the restoration fund have been clarified, and we are waiting for the Commission to accept the draft authorizing the funds.

The expert makes it likely that the Hungarian plan, which the European Parliament wants to be the backbone of, will be accepted this fall. The research director emphasized that the funds serve the purpose of ensuring that Hungarian teachers and health workers receive their salaries.

As we saw when the Polish plan was approved, the European Parliament strongly objected to the Commission's move, it was revealed that the body will probably pay special attention to the supervision of the use of funds in the case of payments.

During the program, Péter Krekó's statement from the head of Political Capital was also discussed, in which he advocated helping Ukraine with arms shipments. According to Attila Kovács, these

the statements are dictated by the compulsion to comply with the Soros networks, and it can be deduced from them that the left has learned nothing from the election results of April 3, and they continue their pro-war incitement communication.

The expert reminded that Political Capital also received significant grants from György Soros's foundation.
