This year's Palóc World Meeting will be held in Ipolyszécsényké in the highlands from Friday. The goal of the three-day program is to strengthen togetherness, to present and keep alive the traditions and values of Palócföld, the secretary of the co-organizer Tar Lőrinc Baráti Közhasznú Egyesület told MTI.

Marianna Berze said: from Friday to Sunday, around 1,000 performers from almost 70 settlements, craft shows, craft fairs, presentations of Palóc communities, a gastronomic festival, exhibitions, concerts, joint painting, writers, and poets are waiting for those interested at the world meeting held for the seventh time. The event is jointly organized by the association and the Csemadok Nagykürtös Regional Election.

The aim of the Tar Lőrinc Friends' Circle Association, which operates in Taron, Nógrád county, and was founded in 2009, is to create a community that encourages solidarity and strengthens the responsibility felt towards each other. In the land of the Palócs, they mean the Felvidék beyond the border and the eastern part of Pest county, Nógrád and Heves counties, as well as the western part of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, in addition to the settlement of Kupuszina in the south region, which currently belongs to Serbia, which has been preserved from the resettlement in the 1750s until today Palóc identity.

The Palóc World Meetings were previously hosted by Bátonyterenye, Cserháthaláp and Bárna in Nógrád County, as well as Gyöngyös in Heves County.

Marianna Berze put it this way: as the initiators of the world meeting, they always had the vision that one day they would succeed in spurring this ethnic group, covered in wounds from all sides, to unite, and not just one or two settlements, but the entire Palócland.

As he said, on the occasion of the current organization, they were able to experience the miracle of unity: the handful of communities of Ipolyszécényke, from the smallest to the largest, worked to beautify the village, cleaned up their idyllic English park, put the roads in order, cleaned the riverbed, and cleaned the spring, so that they could welcome up to thousands of people who they carry the news of their settlement.

In the 400 enthusiastic villages in the Nagykürtös district, a memorial column will be erected, a conference will be organized about palócs, there will be a campfire, a fire-whip show, a palóc wedding and dance hall, and on Saturday evening, Ismerős Arcok will give a concert.

On Sunday, in Ipolybalog, they will join the program of the feast of the Holy Crown, where Cardinal Péter Erdő, Archbishop, will be the main celebrant of the festive mass.
