"We look forward to your visit to the Bishop's Palace in Vác, whose patinated building we owe to my 18th-century bishop predecessor, Kristóf Migazzi.
The construction of the Cathedral of Our Lady in Vác is also linked to his name, as well as the birth of today's baroque image of Vác and many of its defining buildings. Vác and the Bishop's Palace in it hide real treasures! Come and discover!
Be my guests in the Bishop's Palace in Vác!" – can be read on the website of the Diocese of Váci, the invitation of Zsolt Marton, bishop of Váci.
The classicizing Baroque Bishop's Palace and garden in Vác can be viewed with a guided tour in a group format. The first visit will be on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 11 a.m.
The Bishop's Palace and the garden connected to it are located in the center of the former episcopal city, in downtown Vác. During the almost 250 years of its history, 21 bishops and governors lived in the palace, which is already a monument of national importance. The palace currently functions as a bishop's residence and still preserves the special material and spiritual values of its past.
