According to a new Gallup survey, only 1 percent of Americans consider Russia to be a serious problem, and they are more concerned about inflation, bad governance and the state of the economy, Summit News wrote.
This result is also interesting because, as recently as March, 9 percent of Americans considered relations with Russia to be the country's most important problem, and this number has now dropped significantly.
The newspaper assumes that the Americans are no longer interested in what is happening in Ukraine, and the media also played down the Ukrainian-Russian war. This is understandable, since it is better if the citizens do not know how much the preliminary predictions that they will defeat the Putins in a few days did not come true.
Although 17 percent of Americans already consider inflation to be the most important problem, 17 percent are worried about bad governance, and 12 percent are worried about the economy.
Russia did not even make it into the top 10 problems, Americans consider crime, immigration and gun control to be more important issues.
Eight percent of Americans say abortion is the most important issue, also a new record since Gallup began measuring the issue in 1984.
It is noteworthy that topics such as the coronavirus epidemic or climate change did not make it into the top 10 issues, despite the fact that the media deals with them a lot.
