The country's bread is already baked in Balmazújváros, which will be offered in the company's own store network from Friday, but the bread will also be there in Budapest, on Magyar Ízek Utcá, it was announced at the press conference presenting Gulyás bread in Debrecen on Thursday.

József Septe, the president of the Hungarian Bakers' Association, said that this year, Balmaz Sütöde's Gulyás bread was selected as the bread of the country out of 56 products.

Zsolt Fülep, the owner-manager of the family-run bakery, said: this year's bread of the country is made with long-aged sourdough, four types of flour, and long kneading, and with its well-baked thick crust, it can be kept for 10-15 days.

The company manager said that in the last six years, technological development worth around 700 million forints has been implemented from European Union funds, as a result of which they now have the most modern machinery available in Europe.

Balmaz Sütöde Kft. employs 178 people, they have thirty own shops in ten settlements in Hajdú-Bihar county. Their net sales last year was HUF 1.7 billion, their goal this year is to exceed HUF 2 billion in sales, explained Zsolt Fülep.
