According to a representative survey, Ukrainians consider Hungary as an ally as much as Russians.
According to a May survey conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation, the opinion of Ukrainian residents about which countries are among Ukraine's allies has changed significantly. Poland, the United States and the United Kingdom were named as the three most important allies.
Their opinion of Hungary as an ally decreased from 7 percent last year to 0 percent.
The representative poll examined how much the war has changed the public's opinion of Ukraine's strongest allies. The data were compared with the results of a previous research carried out in February 2021 - the Mandiner .
According to the February 2021 survey, Ukraine's three main allies were the United States (38 percent), Poland (35 percent), and Germany (28 percent). In May of this year, Ukrainian respondents named Poland as their main ally with 65 percent, followed by the United States with 63 percent, and the United Kingdom joined the list with the largest increase - from 5 percent to 66 percent.
Instead of the not too high 7 percent in 2021, in May 0 (zero) percent of Ukrainian respondents thought Hungary was an important allied state. Thus, we are at the bottom of the list next to India, Belarus and Russia, with the same value as them.
