historical adventure film showing the fateful day of the young people in March
several prominent ones, including the scene at the then Governor's Council, the Landerer printing house, the Danube boat bridge, and the Pilvax café. At Thursday's press event held at the Fót studio, Csaba Káel, the government commissioner responsible for the development of the Hungarian national motion picture industry, reminded that Budapest and rural locations are increasingly involved in international film production, and more and more productions want to shoot in these locations.
Budapest became the second largest film production base in Europe
After London, Budapest has become the second largest film production base in Europe, and this market position can be maintained by the complete reconstruction of the film studio in Fót and the construction of new studios, which is why large-scale investments have begun in Fót. Csaba Káel added that there is already considerable interest in the recently built scenic town. Rákay Philip, "Now or never!" its producer pointed out: in the film, which is expected to be more than two hours long, there will be a lot of fiction in addition to historical facts, the production is also interwoven with adventure, pathos and humor. The characters of the March youth appear in the film in a sufficiently nuanced manner.
As he recalled, the scenery town in Fót was built over four months from March. The facade elements are built on a steel structure, so it is expected that they will remain durable for many decades and can serve as a filming location for several productions in the future. The other scenes of the film were shot in Budapest, Sopron, Komárom and Esztergom. The purpose of the audience film is to enable viewers to experience what it was like to be young, a revolutionary, a supporter of a holy cause on March 15, 1848, said Balázs Lóth, director of Now or never! its director. He added that
the film is made with more than 100 actors, in the biggest scenes more than 500 extras and several stuntmen.
Filming will end in September, post-production work is expected to take another year.
