Migrants threw stones at prison staff and inmates working to strengthen the border fence from the Serbian side of the border fence, the National Penitentiary Command (BVOP) told MTI on Tuesday.
It was written that on Monday afternoon, a group of 15-20 members armed with axes and sticks appeared in the Ásotthalom area on the Serbian side of the temporary security border fence.
The illegal immigrants threw stones at the convicts and their supervisors working to reinforce the fence, BVOP said.
The supervisors moved to a safe distance with the inmates, no personal injuries occurred. Reinforcement of the temporary security border closure will continue, with increased precautions, the announcement states.
